TUI-NA CHINESE MEDICAL MASSAGE

Tui-Na meaning push-pull in Chinese, uses the same points as acupuncture along the meridians of the body.  It is designed to bring the body back into healthful balance and to provide preventive maintenance.  It releases muscular and nervous blocks that obstruct the body's energy currents.  When an acupoint is simulated, it works to balance and normalize not just the organ on that meridian, but also, all functional relationships of the organ.

One of Tui-Na's advantages over simple massage is its ability to focus on specific problems, especially chronic pain associated with the muscles, joints, and skeletal system.  Tui-Na does not simply work on the muscles, bones and joints.  It works with the energy of the body at a deeper level.  As a practitioner senses the clients' body with her hands she is able to assess the distribution of energy and affect its flow.

Tui-Na, which dates back to 1700 BC, is the parent of most modern Asian bodywork forms.  Tui-Na is now being popularized in this country as a powerful therapeutic extension of traditional western massage methods.

Tui-Na is well suited for the treatment of specific musculoskeletal disorders and chronic stress-related disorders of the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.
